Watching The Seventh Seal

poetry — Levi on July 28, 2009 at 9:15 am

Looting dead mom’s bracelets
she smiles and stares but
she’s upset. large man and pulsing
vein on the forehead he is
ashamed, she regrets. pushed
to the floor he wants you
to know he could kill you
but he won’t he’d rather have
you as his slave with your
long hair and wave silhouette.

He speaks to you though your
back turned he need not
see your face he knows it
tightens when he yells.

Half black half white
ram horns above your eyes
dance my child and do try
ignore the boy hanging
before you, his legs crossed
dangling spinning face tight and
dead.

who knows

my hair becomes birthday ribbon
curls when she scrapes the
sides of scissors against it

I pry off the blue end

music, poetry — Levi on July 20, 2009 at 9:30 am

the quiver in your voice brings me patience and I thank you for that. we were all in agreement like a drug deal. It was strange. red nail polish thin lips and that was when I knew I wasn’t made for this.

so many. I am surrounded by my past and yeah, thats fine but I am covered in pen caps and the knowledge of where to cut an empty white ballpoint in half after I pry off the blue end.

Last Night

poetry — Levi on July 15, 2009 at 11:04 am

last night:

it was dark
i old fashioned
to the church parking
lot.

saw some tail lights
and thought of
yours.

we idled for a while
didn’t near cause
i’d not want to try
too hard.
hoped you’d get out of
that car.

but they pulled away.

was a van
a church van
and i said to myself
“fuck you, jesus.”
